Historical and cultural relation between Iran and Georgia began before the reign of the Achaemenid. Part of the Iranian epic and legendary works entered in Georgian culture in pre-Islamic age. A number of Persian works such as the Shahnameh and Vis o Ramin was translated into Georgian languag in the 12th century. However, Nothing is left but a translation of Vis o Ramin, and parts of the Shahnameh. Between 15 and 18 centuries, some of the masterpieces of Persian literature - mainly narrative and epic literature - was translated into Georgian . During the twentieth century, some of Persian literature prominent works such as Rumi, Saadi, Hafiz and Khayyam was translated into Georgian . persian literature has a significant impact on the formation and establishment of Georgian Literature .This impact both in form and content is well represented in Georgian literary masterpieces especially Shota Rustveli”s The knight in the panther’s skin” This paper defines the process of translating Persian to Georgian and introduce some of these translations .It is also Examines the impact of Persian literature on the formation of Georgian Literature .
