Grotesque, Background and its Revolution in the Iran

Abstract

Grotesque is a literary – artistic species and has mixed with the contrasting elements that play a vital role in the stimulating dual and confused feelings of audience and also with mixing frightening and funny aspects describes the heterogeneities and disharmonies of real life and the world outside the mind. Research in this field has a long background in the West and many theorists had discussed about this matter but it is pale in the Iran. Authors in this research, after defining Grotesque and with relying on a library and analytical method and by virtue of findings, had considered it’s place in the art and literature of Iran and concluded that the background of this species in Iran has a longer ancientness compared to the West. There are many literary and artistic works in Iran with the Grotesque characteristics but there are not known with this name.
