About Dari Shooshtari and Chaman-e Sorur

Abstract

Due to the Qajar family interest in poets, many poets and biographers emerged in the 13th century, some of which have created unique works. Poet and biographer Dolatshah, was among them. His most important work is the Tazkire, Chaman-e Sorur, a thematic Jong of poetry and mostly contains Indian-style poems from 11th and 12th century poems. This work has not been revisioned yet. He also had a work titled "Iqbalnameh, which seems to have been lost. His other work is arrangement and duplication of Safine-ye Khoshgu. This article looks over the life and works of Dari Shooshtari, especially his important work, Chaman-e Sorur. After that, a brief overview of Safine-ye Khoshgu and his role in its formation comes and at the end, by examining his poetry and prose, a picture of him as a poet and court writer is drawn.
