Abstract

Irony is one of the techniques of indirect expression and artistic imagery, and is one of the four elements of the art of expression which in terms of words and apparent meaning, is in the syntagmatic axis, and in terms of hidden and remote meaning, is in the paradigmatic axis. In fact, the peak of strangeness and real beauty of any irony, like any other imaginary image, is in its novelty. Some ironies have become lexical ironies due to excessive use and have a fixed and defined meaning. In Nima's poetry, there are both lexical and traditional, and innovative and new ironies. Lexical ironies are mostly seen in his traditional and semi-traditional poems and innovative ironies in his new and modern poems. Nima, however, has sometimes used some lexical and traditional ironies in the meaning and concept, and according to the context of the poem, he has intended a meaning other than its lexical and established one. In this article, which has been done on all Nima's poems, whether traditional, semi-traditional or modern, the ironies of his poetry have been extracted and categorized, and his innovations in this regard have been mentioned.
