Recently, a new Greek version of Kar-Namag i Ardashir i Pabagan has been found, which is considered to be the oldest historical epic in Persian prose. In fact, this new narrative can be considered a summary of the Pahlavi text of Kar-Namag, which is written in a completely different style. The difference in the expression style of these two works is so obvious that it is inevitable to compare the most basic literary features of the two texts, and this comparison clearly shows the role and authoritative presence of the author of the Pahlavi text in the conscious and purposeful editing of the story. The present article aims to provide the text of the new Greek narrative and compare it with the Pahlavi text, and try to reread Kar-Namag i Ardashir i Pabagan as a literary text and make its general features distinct and bolder.
