In the history of Iranian literature, Nasir Khusrow has a special place. He was a thinking poet and he put his poetry only in the service of propagating religious thought and reforming the beliefs of his audience. Besides being a poet, he has also written books explaining the basics of Esoteric(Batini) sect. His Persian books (including Jami ol-Hikmatain and Zad al-Musafirin) are among the good prose of the fifth century in terms of linguistic and vocabulary characteristics and have literary and linguistic value. Nasir Khusrow's intellectual sources are mainly the sources of the Isma’ili religion and he has benefited from the Epistles of the Brethren of Sincerity, among others.
