This article introduces the available sources in the field of the history of Iranian literature before Islam. These sources can be divided into at least two main parts. First, the writings and articles that are included in the books on the history of literature and even the history of Iran; The presentation of this way of expressing the contents has been done mostly by western orientalists and Iranologists, and for this reason, it has considerable value and credibility. Second, independent sources that are often written in the form of books and are sometimes specialized. In addition to these two types of writings, one can also classify a part of the history of languages and introductions and articles included in Persian lexicons dictionaries, etc.
