Zoology (Elm al Hayavan) is a branch of science that has been considered from ancient times (at least from ancient Greece) and also in Islamic culture after establishment of Bayt al Hekmah and formation of Translation Movement and translation of texts from Greek, Syriac, Sanskrit, various theses, relating to this subject matter, have been written (including al Hayavan by Jahez and Hayat al Hayavan al Kobra by Damiri). In this research after a short review on the history of the zoology books in Islamic-Iranian area, the author has tried to introduce the version of Manafe e Hayavan (written by Abd al Hadi Maraghi in the 7th century). In addition, by referring to the texts relevant to this area, the author has revised and completed many words and unfinished phrases which have been specified by the editor due to pale ink of the original version with full loyalty, and also the cases in which the editor has expressed his uncertainty about the authenticity and correctness of the words and phrases. Besides, new points about dolphin (lifeguard in some old texts) and pigeon of Bana (Varashan or plain dove in some old texts) have been presented in this research. It should be said that it is the editor himself who is more qualified than anybody else to recorrect the text.
