Abstract Nearly a century after the initiation of critical correction of old texts in Iran and researchers’ effort in publishing Persian literature, there are old texts which have not been corrected and published yet. Critical correction and publication of these text are not only significant in itself, they but also provide the agenda for further research. Examples of such texts include Divan e Mir Moezzeddin Mohammad Mashhadi (1101), pen named Fetrat, Moez, and Musavi, who was a distinguished poet in Indian style and lived in the second half of eleventh century. This poet, though, was prominent and notable in his period, so far neither his biography nor his life events, which are present in numerous sources, shave been corrected. Or in spite of some efforts, no valid research has been conducted on his biography. His was born in Mashhad. After traveling to some parts of Iran, including Esfahan and having association with Saeb, equipped with intellectual ware of then set off to India. There, he became relative with Orang zib, king of India, by marriage and earned high-ranking political positions. Beyond high political standing, his role in arranging literary events was admirable. Only Divan e Ashaar, Safineh and some other works have survived from Fetrat .His divan is one of the most valuable and excellent work in Indian style which ,though, there are a number of authentic manuscripts, has not been corrected and published. The present study deals with Fitrat Mashhadi’s life, (writing) style, introducing manuscripts as well as explaining the significance of critical correction of his Divan
