The creation of slogans demanding the equality of men and women's rights by the Constitutionalists led to a review of the role of women in social arenas. The reflection of this in the world of literature was the wider presence of women in this field. Although women's literature has not been moving and growing at the same speed since the Post-Constitutional years, what we call independent women's literature at the end of the eighties is the product of all the changes that have occurred in the history of women's fiction literature in different decades of this century. From the 1940s onward, Iranian women writers found more courage and boldness to address women's issues in their works, and the protest against male hegemony (superiority) became one of the main themes of these works. What distinguishes women's stories from the 80s with all previous works is the formation of an independent and feminine world and language in this category of works, which is often self-conscious and with feminist nuances.
