Qatran Tabrizi is known as the first poet who started poetry in Dari language in Azerbaijan and Arran in the 5th century of Hijri, as he himself has boasted in a verse that he is considered the top poet of Azerbaijan. From the fifth century until now, his poetry has been examined from various angles, and he has been praised everywhere in biographies as a powerful poet who has influenced the poets after him. Qatran's poetry has the ability to be explored from another angle, and that is the influence that this famous poet has left on the flow of poetry in the west of Iran. Qatran wrote poetry in Persian language, and since this language was used as an official language - which was sufficiently advanced in those days due to the necessary supports - he naturally caused this language to be used for poetry in the court of the rulers West of Iran, become a common and established language and practically pushed other native languages to the sidelines. This essay aims to take a relative look at Qatran's career and examine his role in marginalizing Iranian languages for literary creations.
