In Naser Khosrow’s cosmology, the soul stands on the third level of the creation which emerges from the general intellect. The intellect and the soul comprise the masculine-feminine couple of the spiritual world which is the origin of all its lower levels. The general soul, influenced by the general intellect, creates in the spiritual world fortune, opening and imagination and in the physical world generates the general nature, the form and the matter. Plant and animal souls in the lower levels of the world originate from the general soul. The general soul is incomplete compared to the intellect; although to compensate this deficiency, provides the circumstances for human creation by creating lower levels such as celestial bodies and elements as the ultimate goal of creation. The speaking soul in humankind that is a part of the general soul applies the religious teaching and acquiring knowledge to save itself and help the salvation of the general self. The background and origins of Naser Khosrow’s ideas about the soul, in addition to the Islamic teachings, go back to mythology, Greek religious and philosophical teachings, as well as Gnostic and Neoplatonic ideas. موضوع این پژوهش که به روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی انجام گرفته، نقد و تحلیل دیدگاه ناصرخسرو دربارۀ مفهوم نفس و جست‌وجو در ریشه‌های آن است. در جهان‌شناسی ناصرخسرو، نفس سومین مرتبۀ آفرینش است که از عقلِ کلی پدید می‌آید. عقل و نفس، زوجِ مذکر و مؤنث عالم روحانی به شمار می‌آیند که تمام مراتب مادون از آنها سرچشمه می‌گیرد. نفس کلی با تأثیرپذیری از عقل، در جهان روحانی جد و فتح و خیال و در عالم جسمانی طبیعت کلی، صورت و هیولی را پدید می‌آورد. نفوس نباتی و حیوانی در عالم فرودین، از نفس کلی سرچشمه می‌گیرد. نفس کلی نسبت به عقل ناقص است و برای رفع نقصان خود، با ایجاد مراتب پایین‌تر چون اجرام فلکی و ارکان، زمینۀ خلقت انسان را به عنوان هدف نهایی آفرینش فراهم می‌آورد. نفس ناطقه در انسان که جزئی از نفس کلی است با کاربست تعالیم دینی و کسب معارف، هم خود را نجات می‌دهد و هم به رستگاری نفس کلی کمک می‌کند. زمینه و ریشۀ آرای ناصرخسرو دربارۀ نفس، علاوه بر تعالیم اسلامی به اساطیر، آموزه‌های حکمی و فلسفی یونان و اندیشه‌های گنوسی و نوافلاطونی بازمی‌گردد. https://hlit.sbu.ac.ir/article_103002_e1d25dd75bd7a2083c12ec1e53f450ce.pdf
